Did you know a few updates like paint and clean carpets can have a big impact on your sale? Homes that are prepped sell faster and for more money than those that aren’t.

Attention to the small stuff could mean your home selling over another. Our pre-listing fixes help our sellers get more money—nearly 3-4% more than other agents to be exact. Here’s our top 10 standard pre-listing fixes to do prior to listing:

Wipe down all baseboards, doors and window seals. A pack of Mr. Cleans’ magic easers will ease years of wear and tear on your home’s interior.

Get the carpet and/or grout professionally cleaned.

Power wash or scrub the front and back entry areas.

De-clutter, de-clutter, de-clutter. Move all items you don’t use on a daily basis to the garage—we don’t mind if the garage looks like a storage unit.

Neutralize or freshen up your interior paint. The two best selling interior paint colors are light beige and light grey.

Cut the grass and place black mulch in flowerbeds. Black mulch makes flower beds pop in the professional photos.

Clean all windows inside and out to bring in natural light.

Remove personal photos and replace them with generic photos. You’ll want buyers focusing on your home, not your cute family photos.

Keep children’s toys in their room(s). Not all buyers have children, so keeping toys in their respected areas will make your home inviting to all possible buyers.

Wipe down cabinets and appliances. Kitchens sell homes, so paying a little extra attention here goes a long way. Give your cabinets a once over with a wet rag and use white vinegar on stainless steel appliances to freshen things up!

Making these cheap and easy updates to ensure your home gives a good first impression and to ensure you’ll make the most money possible.
